Daphne Teo

Daphne is an experienced investor and company builder, with over a decade of experience in real estate, biotech, and investment banking. She is the founder and CEO of NeoSci Ventures and NSG BioLabs, Singapore’s largest and leading biotech co-working laboratory and office space. She led the setup of NeoSci Ventures, including financing, operational setup, and recruited a team of internationally renowned professors, investors, and biotech executives to advise NeoSci Ventures and its companies.

She previously worked at Goldman Sachs and HSBC in the Investment Banking Division in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Daphne received her master’s from Stanford University’s School of Engineering and her bachelor’s from Purdue University (highest honors).

Timothy Lu

Tim Lu, MD PhD., is a leading expert in synthetic biology and a serial biotech entrepreneur, with more than 20 years of experience in drug discovery and development. He is the Managing Director of NeoSci Ventures and leads the scientific and innovation efforts within the firm and its Portfolio Companies. As an experienced scientist-entrepreneur, he plays a crucial role in assessing technological capabilities, identifying innovation and investment opportunities, and attracting scientific talent.

Tim has co-founded multiple companies, including Tango Therapeutics (NASDAQ), Engine Biosciences, Senti Biosciences (NASDAQ), Synlogic (NASDAQ), BiomX (NYSE), Bota Bio, Eligo Biosciences, Corvium, and others, and has also advised multiple others, which have collectively raised over $1B via non-dilutive biopharma deals and investors.

He joined the Departments of Biological Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT in 2010, and also became a member of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). He has received numerous awards for his research work and innovation, including the NIH New Innovator Award, US Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, MIT Technology Review’s TR35, and the 2018 Xconomy Scientific Founder of the Year.

Tim earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from MIT.

Darin Baur

Darin Baur

Darin has over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance, legal and regulatory matters. He has led or coordinated a wide range of financing, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic corporate transactions in Asia, the U.S.A., Australia and Europe. In addition, he has dealt directly with regulatory and licensing bodies in multiple jurisdictions, setting up and/or serving as responsible persons or officers for licensed entities in several countries.

Darin has been an advisor to multiple entities, including start-ups and funds in the biotechnology space, assisting with corporate finance and legal matters, and working on investments and related transactions.

He started his career as an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in the United States, followed by senior investment banking roles with Citigroup, HSBC and Canaccord Genuity in the United States and Hong Kong.

Darin holds a J.D. from the Harvard University Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A. and a B.A. from Albion College in Albion, Michigan, U.S.A.

Jeffrey Lu

Jeffrey Lu

Jeff brings more than 15 years of experience as a company builder, CEO, and investor across biotechnology, technology, and consumer businesses.

He has founded, built, and led companies operating across Asia, the United States, and Europe, resulting in multiple successful exits and hundreds of millions of dollars in funding from blue-chip investors. These experiences include Engine Biosciences, Enleofen Bio (acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim in a multi-billion-dollar transaction), Bota Bio, AAE (acquired by Expedia), and other venture-backed companies.

Alongside his operating roles, Jeff has been an active investor in early- and growth-stage companies with experience spanning institutional venture capital and principal investing.
Earlier in his career, he was a management consultant at Bain & Company and held senior strategy and commercial leadership roles at AirAsia Group.

Jeff earned his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Ken Nesmith

Ken Nesmith

Ken Nesmith has been active in healthcare and life sciences as a technologist and executive for over 15 years. He is the CBO of the oncology business at Lunit. He was the cofounder and CEO of Lexent Bio, an innovative liquid biopsy company focused on solid tumor cancer diagnostics, acquired by Foundation Medicine in 2020. Prior to Lexent Bio, he led product strategy at Counsyl, leading a team of clinical and software product managers. He built his career in health and technology at companies including Noom, Boston Consulting Group, and Codon Devices. He completed undergraduate studies at MIT and an MBA at Wharton.

Fiona Lee

Fiona Lee

Fiona has trained extensively as a bench scientist, working on Neuroscience, Skin Biology, Stem cells and Oncology projects in academic and industry institutions across the world. Her scientific work has contributed to the foundations of new biotech start-ups as well as acquisition of competitive local and international research grants. Beyond her technical training, she has always been keen on extending the translatability of lab findings into real world solutions. At NeoSci Ventures, Fiona functions as an Assistant Vice President to assist in performing due diligence on new deals and formulation of investment memos.

Fiona was a recipient of the National Science Scholarship (NSS) from Agency of Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. She received her DPhil from University of Oxford and her bachelor’s from Imperial College London (First Class Honours). After completing her studies, she underwent postdoctoral training at Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), Genome Institute of Singapore (A*STAR) and National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS).

Shih-Li Su

Shih-Li Su

Shih-Li brings over 15 years of experience across the biotech and healthcare industry, spanning multinational pharmaceutical companies, venture-backed startups, and entrepreneurship ecosystems. Prior to joining NeoSci Ventures, he held business development and strategy roles at companies including Roche, iXensor, Health2Sync, and Craftsman Bio, where he worked across corporate strategy, global partnerships, fundraising, licensing, and cross-border collaborations. He also previously served as a Senior Accelerator Manager at the Taidah Entrepreneurship Center of National Taiwan University, supporting university spin-offs and early-stage founders. Through these roles, Shih-Li has developed extensive connections across Taiwan’s biotech ecosystem, including startups, academic institutions, technology transfer offices, strategic corporates, and investors.

At NeoSci Ventures, Shih-Li serves as Assistant Vice President, where he focuses on sourcing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on new deals, and connecting NSV with local biotech and healthcare ecosystem. He brings an operator’s perspective to investment evaluation, drawing on his experience in business development, commercialization, fundraising, and strategic partnerships. Shih-Li received his MBA in International Business from National Taiwan University and his BSc in Life Science from National Tsing Hua University.

Vincent Lim

Vincent Lim

Vincent combines a background in structural biology and life sciences research with a growing focus on early-stage biotechnology investment. His scientific background centers on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying complex biological systems, giving him a strong foundation to evaluate scientific evidence and emerging biotechnology platforms. Leveraging his research background and experience within Taiwan’s academic and biotech ecosystem, Vincent serves as an Investment Analyst at NeoSci Ventures, where he conducts due diligence on new deals and prepares investment memos.

Vincent holds a Ph.D. in Biochemical Science and Technology from National Taiwan University, where his doctoral research focused on the structural and molecular basis of membrane protein signaling. His work has led to peer-reviewed publications, international scientific presentations, and interdisciplinary collaborations. He is also a recipient of the Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarship Program.

Jamie Ng

Jamie Ng

Jamie brings over 20 years of experience across financial markets, investment, business development, and corporate operations, with a career spanning banking, government, and biotechnology. She currently serves as Senior Manager of Compliance, Finance and HR for NeoSci Ventures, where she oversees key corporate functions supporting the company’s growth and operations.

For almost a decade, Jamie has been with Engine Biosciences, where she has led and supported finance, human resources, payroll, compliance, and operational functions through the company’s growth and development. Her experience includes building operational processes and policies, managing financial and administrative functions, and supporting teams across Singapore and the United States.

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with Merit from the National University of Singapore.
